 Cheap Computer Guys Toolkit :
  Other Tools Spares
If you are following Cheap Computer Guys build a pc guide, or you are considering upgrading or repairing a computer then you are going to need a computer toolkit.

This is a (hopefully) comprehensive list of tools needed and desired to do any job on a computer.

You wont need all these tools for every computer job you do, and some of the tools are nice to have rather than essential, just there to make life a little easier.

Toolbox essentials :

Toolbox - Down to personal choice. If you are going to be carrying a lot of stuff get a big one, if not a smaller one will do. Plastic toolboxes are preferable to metal ones as they are non- conductive and kinder to any components you may be carrying.
Screwdrivers - Slot and cross head (phillips) screwdrivers are essential even to open your computers case. Small screwdrivers are best, just big enough for the head of the computers screws. Try to buy long screwdrivers - this can help when the case is obsuring the screw you are trying to access. Magnetic screwdrivers can be useful for retreiving lost screws (and not losing them in the first place).

Pliers - for holding, pulling and wiggling. Pliers with a thin, long nose are best.

Tweezers - for setting jumpers. Jumpers are sometimes difficult to access even with pliers, and impossible to access using fingers.

Screw extractor - a claw on a stick for retrieving lost and dropped screws. Compressed air - to blow dust etc. off components and out of the inside of dusty old PCs.

Light - a small torch is useful to see inside computer cases, especially if working in less than ideal conditions. I have a useful little bendy torch which can be positioned, keeping both my hands free.
