Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Pushes Proshow Producer More Than Proshow Gold
I did understand, when buying this book, that it would include both versions as lessons as it says in the title. But this book definitely pushes Producer on us by centering more on Producer than Gold.

It uses keyframes a lot throughout this book but Gold doesn't have keyframes. So rather than explain the lesson with and without keyframes, it just teaches using keyframes so tough crap if you own Gold.

I couldn't open some of the lessons on the CD. Says they are not valid ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - A waste of time & money
The author James Karney should be ashamed himself. And Photodex Corporation compliance with selling this book, it is a complete fraud. There is no continuity, the CD enclosed with it does not relate to the chapters in the book and it keeps jumping between pro-show gold and pro-show producer there is no continuity.
Over the years I have purchased many computer books and without exception this is a complete waste.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - So far so good ...
So far I do like this guide book. It's simple to read and has great examples. I really like the CD that comes with it. Very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone who purchases the ProShow software.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Disapointment
This long overdue ProShow guide was a big disapointment. The author has a bad habit of interupting the lessons by putting the glossary in the middle of the lesson(ex pg 20-23). Being used to the Adobe Elements books and the intuitive way the lessons are written, this book is very difficult to follow as there is no coherant lesson plan. There is also a problem in opening some of the lesson materials from the supplied CD. Lastly, the book lumps ProShow Gold $69.95) with the more expensive ProShow ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - A for the effort, but the Book need some help
I have been using Proshow Producer for sometime, and was prodding Photodex to write a book, I have to say that I think what happened with this book is in the quality control dept. Its like there was none, and it is very evident with spelling errors, poor illustrations, unfinished illustrations, and words that only an experienced user in ProShow Producer would recognize. I do applaud James Karney for writing it, maybe on the next edition all of the errors will be straightened out. The Program ProShow ... Read More
